ICE Denies Hazahza Mistreatment to Media, not to Court

We are confused by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) spokesperson’s denial that the Hazahzas have been strip-searched and mistreated while in detention. These allegations were made in court filings as sworn statements. ICE and the Emerald Corporation were afforded every opportunity to deny, refute, and/or respond to these allegations in Court under oath. They chose not to do so. If ICE believes that what the Hazahzas allege to be untrue, then we welcome them to respond under oath.
