  • Two Notes from Ramsey Muniz

Editor’s Note: The Texas Civil Rights Review is pleased to pass
along occasional dispatches from Ramsey Muniz, former candidate for
Texas Governor, now imprisoned at Ft. Leavenworth. As a graduate of
Baylor Law and organizer of La Raza Unida, Muniz deserves to be taken
seriously as a commentator on Texas Civil Rights.–gm

From Ramsey Muniz (13 Jan 2005)

It is the ultimate goal of the oppressor in
these confinements to destroy all communications
and relationships with friends, loved ones, and
families. Because of the forced conservative attitudes
in the so-called free world, the majority in America
refuse to recognize the existence of humanity in its
prisons of hell. Eventually, with time and hatred,
man becomes the beast in this mode of darkness. Reasons
to live or exist become none, and the right to die is
one for the oppressor. It is a jungle where at one
time humanity existed, but now we all live in the
belly of the beast. Yet regardless of the hell and
its cruelty, we refuse to surrender the love in our
Mexika souls and for those reasons we reach out to
the world with strength, courage, honor, pride, and
respect for our people and ourselves. We, la raza
who are confined in the depths of this cruel master,
live like refugees in the wars of countries throughout
the world. We have no rights, justice, families, or
contacts and the attempted resurrection of the love
    in our hearts."–Tezcatlipoca

    Hermano Mexicano:

We have a lot of work ahead of us for the year 2005.
Without a doubt it is your Mexika responsibility to step
forward and provide the necessary political leadership
in your part of Aztlan. Truthfully, we waited for the
last ten years for someone in your part of Aztlan or
Texas to step forward and announce to the world that
El Partido Raza Unida has returned to claim its political
resistance and power in the entire southwest of America.
We must step forward and let the United States and our
Holy Land of Mexico know that we, El Partido, are in total
support of our sisters and brothers who journey from
Mexico to be with us in Aztlan.

You must immediately take a position against the
proposed legislation of only English language spoken
and written in the state of Arizona. Those who are racist
and oppress are well aware of the numbers. We are in
the state of Arizona, making it difficult for our
brothers to participate in government entities. It
is as if they were to say, "No Mexicans allowed unless you write and speak English."

Eventually, it will be our duty and responsibility to
master not only the Spanish language, but English
as well. There is fear in the hearts and minds of
the oppressor, as we continue to grow in numbers,
and guess what. It is only the beginning of what
is to come like a tidal wave of humanity.

Our position is one of inviting and providing
humane protection to our sisters and brothers who
come to not only make a better life, but most
importantly to become part of a historical
liberation that is within our reach. We advocate total
amnesty to our sisters and brothers who find
    themselves in America.

We must never content or satisfied with what
we have done so far. Politically the time has come
to step forward because culturally and spiritually
we are ready to assist and provide the foundation
    for our political power.

The United States supreme court recently ruled
that the sentencing guidelines were unconstitutional
because they forced judges to increase prison time
based on certain factors such as the amounts,
without submitting such questions to a jury. I will
be sharing with you and others my immediate legal
position in this new law related event.

Remember, and do not ever forget that we must first
be strong politically in Aztlan in order for me to be free.
That’s history and nothing can change that.
Stay strong, my brother, for one day we will all
    be free.

  • Mexicano Cultural/Spiritual Vemmana (Sacrifice)

Enclosed are writings from Ramsey Muniz, which cite sources about our ancient spiritual roots. Please forward to advocates and friends.–Irma L. Muniz

"What do you want, mi gente? For me to do the work that will be applauded on earth, or for me to live, gnawed by rancor, without the sound of applause, without the profits of one who bows low and serene and doing the work whose applause we will not live to hear?"

    –Tezcatlipoca 2/19/06

Mexicano vemmana (sacrificio) does not ever reject any form of struggle movement. Even in this mode of dark imprisonment I move with it. At the end, when the sun sets and the dawn rises, it will matter because my sacrifice for my people is revolutionary
in a cultural and spiritual manner. It is written and verily I
say unto you that Mexicano cultural/spiritual power is greater
than power on behalf of present day tyranny and oppression because our power from the very beginning of our creation as a race, as Mexicanos from Aztlan and our Holy Land of Mexico, real power comes from conviction which produces uncompromising action from our hearts.
It also produces vemmana "sacrifice" against the oppression in everyday aspects of nuestra gente. Only through the rising or our cultural and spiritual power will we as a people will end oppression in the present 21st century!

Our ancient Mexicano history reveals that throughout our struggle to the present, our vemmana never takes a step back. Our sacrificio for liberation, justice, or the present day demands the return of our land (Aztlan). It doesn’t back up in the face of a threat, confinement, or when the political odds are against us in America. Historically, it is not the nature of vemmana (whether through traditional Latino/Hispanic leadership or their Anglo-American sponsors) to back up in the face of anything when it pertains to our liberation as humans in this world of ours.

Mexicano history reveals that because of our sacrifices it recognizes only cultural/spiritual power of today’s movement. De cierto les digo, "Paradise is under the shadow of our Mexicano cultural/spiritual revolution." Our Mexicano present day cultural/spiritual holy struggle is la raza’s most positive form of prayer. Yet the greatest Mexicano holy struggle from the past to the future is the spreading of truth. This is our 21st century Mexicano holy struggle for liberation, land, and justice. En verdad, from the dungeons of America les digo, "Mexi kan yn neltihuani, neltihua Mexi. Esto quiere decir, "El soldado Mexicano/Mexicana (Kan) de Dios (Mexi) representa la verdad (Neltihuani), la verdad de Dios (Neltihuamexi).

In our ancient writings and manuscripts we find in "La Monarquia Indiana" (p. 293 del primer tomo), declara Torquemada que "los mismos naturales afirman que Mexi (God) es el Dios principal." For those who continue to deny who they are and/or where they come from or what they should be called, refer to "La Monarquia Indiana" p. 79. See where it is written, "Ya estais apartados, y segregados de los demas y asi quiero, que como escogidos mios, ya no os llameis Aztecas, sino Mexicas (Mexicanos). Why is it that all races on this earth can refer to their ancient past in confirming the truth of who they are and the origins of their name?

Yet we have been labeled, named, and branded with every possible name except that which reflects what we truly are and were from the beginning of our creation of the mighty race that we are * Mexicanos! Until we return to who we really are we will continue to be oppressed and divided by those who seek to oppress us in all facets of life. This is the reason that throughout all Aztlan and in our Holy Land of Mexico our spiritual/cultural revolution has become a reality in that we are finally accepting and confirming that we are one * todos somos uno!

The one great spiritual/cultural embracing quality that is
absolutely necessary for the task of restoring our land of Aztlan to its original state of creation is the consciousness of such a mission.

Hermanos y Hermanas, the consciousness of such a mission cannot come from human resolve. It can come only as the emanation of a super personal Mexicano soul, the organ of a higher destiny – a spiritual divinity. That super personal soul is referred to as Mexicayotl (consciousness), our divine Nahuatl organ. Nahuatl power, from its ancient creation to the present, is spiritual in origin. In our history, going from the spiritual to the political is but one step. Solamente por medio de Mexicayotl podemos realizar la unificacion espiritual de Aztlan.

The Nahuatlan will to power, is destined to shield against the
mighty oppression confronting Mexicanos in Aztlan and Holy Land of Mexico. The blow that the oppressor historically has dealt the Nahuatlan organism is well known. The values of this nsymbiosis are purely anti-Mexicano spirituality, anti-raza, anti-culture, anti-heroic, anti-Mexicayotl. They appeal to the worst element in the Nahuatlan race and to the worst in every individual Nahuatlan. With the spiritual ethical values of "Maya-illusion," the oppressor symbiosis is planning
to oppress the Nahuatlan organism, which is la raza. But the past can never destroy the future — nunca. It can only attempt
to thwart it. That means that oppression imposing the anti-cultural interregnum on Aztlan and therein lies the possibility that for Aztlan will follow decades of degradation, chaos, darkness, stultification, miseria, and wasting away. Mi gente, que vamos hacer? Mis Hermanos y Hermanas Mexicanos, remember that our most powerful Mexicano spiritual mobilization is Mexicayotl (consciousness)!

The motivation of the global power struggle in our age of
absolute politics lies in cultura! The time has come for us to return to our spiritual/cultural power within the masses of our people. The oppressor and so-called leaders used by the oppressor must come to understand that we of the 21st century have decided to seize the time of our cultural liberation and land. Speak to us about our freedom, our education, justice, and about a plan for the ultimate return of our land. The issue of Aztlan will never cease to be forgotten until it is resolved by the masses of our people here in America and our sisters and brothers from our Holy Land of Mexico. We must never forget
that we are and were Mexi’s (God’s) chosen people from the beginning.

  • Mexicano Spiritual / Cultural Life Force

The enclosed writiings from Ramsey Muniz represent many years of research on our ancient spirituality, culture, and history. Please distribute.–Irma L. Muniz

Our sisters and brothers from Aztlan must one day soon visit our masonry — temples and altars in the Holy Land of Mexico. They are so beautiful! Our ancient masons were the greatest architects. They left us a foundation and we are now rebuilding the temples by nature of being Mexicano.

Cultured Sixth Sun Mexicanos are living houses and hearts of these temples. We create awareness and consciousness
(Mexicayotl) so powerful that we are a life force. We possess
a clarity that our masons once possessed una vez, en un tiempo
en Aztlan. From this confined mode of darkness, I know they
knew that un dia, una manana, during the era of our Sixth Sun,
their Mexicano sisters and brothers would do their homework and
create an awareness and use their craft to rebuild the temple
and in a spiritual sense build ourselves.

Our love, spirituality, courage and compassion describe our true Mexicano tribe. We are the most exquisite living art, and our art form is Nahuatl. We not only sound beautiful, we are beautiful. The beauty and intensity of our love, care, and
concern is similar to a divine, spiritual love that our ancient
masons possessed in the dawn of our civilization. Now as we
organize ourselves in Aztlan, we will realize the relationship
between the masons of our Holy and Aztlan, and the free and
accepted Mexicanos/Mexicanas of the present day, to understand
the process by which our "core" changed from an operative art
to a speculative science. So we of the Sixth Sun shall
attentively study, read, and thoroughly digest these ancient
    records of our brotherhood.

The Mexican codices are essential to our studies. We will
acquire them, for we know that historically they refer to the
regeneration or rebuilding of the temple, and symbolically to
the regeneration of life. Hermanos y hermanas, nosotros somos
la fuerza de vida nueva de los masones de una vez en un tiempo
de Aztlan. We must learn how they built the temple of
spirituality and how to build ourselves step by step, degree
    by degree.

We must not reject the signs and symbols. Every keystone they placed in the center of every arch and doorway shall secure spiritual stability in our daily lives. Every cornerstone they laid with impressive ceremonies was done so in our honor. The cornerstone is the stone that forms the corner and foundation of an edifice, and for this reason we are the living permanence and durability of the cornerstone of Aztlan. We are a well-formed true and trusting people.

Mexi (God) is the Master Builder of souls and in Torquemada’s
Monarquia Indiana we learned that Mexi, our God and Creator,
gave us his name proclaiming us worthy of the spiritual/cultural
building of eternal life, fitted as living stones for an
eternal house in Tamoanchan. Tezcatlipoca, an archangel of
Mexi, is the chief cornerstone. In Mexicayotl (Mexican masonry),
the "chief cornerstone" signifies a true Mexican. We are master
builders as our ancient masons were. We are building the temple
through our Mexican identity and essence and the architectural
plan of Mexi, for He revealed it to us. We know the reason
they left the beautiful sculptures for us.

On the same subject matter, in the Xultun Tarot by Peter Balin, one will find the flight of the feathered serpent. Peter Balin reveals the esoteric teachings as taught by our maestras y maestros once in Aztlan. Our school of mystery was united with that of the kingdom of Maiam (Mayam, land of the Mayans) and it was there that our school flourished and our maestras and maestros enlightened generations of our native tribesmen and tribeswomen. We see that the symbols remain eternal flames of truth. Our young Mexika students must learn the Xultun and take spiritual flight lessons from the feathered serpent. We are Xultun incarnated and we definitely know how to take to the sky
    like true Mexicans.

En verdad os digo, even in the confinement of this mode of darkness, nothing in this world is impossible to those who
dare to scale the heights of Aztlan. We are at heaven’s doorstep. What a great time to be alive! Van a ver, mi raza!

The time has come within the spheres of our Sixth Sun (spiritual consciousness) to study, learn and share our ancient religious history, especially the writings of Ramirez Tezozomoc Hernando in Cronica Mexicana Codices. This last entry by Tezozomoc and the one by Torquemada explained a lot about the Ark of the
Covenant which Mexicanos de la raza carried. It reads like
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, only this ark
was Mexi (the Creator) art of the covenant, which He had
    entrusted to us.

It’s a story many have forgotten, and many Mexican men and women in the best universities in America don’t know about the ark. Some of them wouldn’t care even if they did know, so one positive thing about Christian fundamentalist Mexicans is that the story of the Ark of the Covenant is not unfamiliar. They know about Noah and the ark he built to save God’s people and about Moses making the Red Sea open to save his people when pursued by Pharaoh. We have our own Ark of the Covenant with which we were entrusted and in it we carried Mexi’s laws. We received them and three Mexicanos/Mexicanas personally carried the ark and guarded it.

We have our own Noah who was named Ixtacmixcuatl (Ish-tok-mish-coh-aht), "white cloud serpent," and our own
Moses (Quetzalcoatl), who made the waters part and our gente
went through while the pursuers were engulfed by the
waters. Torquemada in his writings (Monarquia Indiana)
tells us in detail about the great flood and he refers to
Ixtac as "El Noe Mexicano." We must continue to refer to
our ancient history and writings in order to concentrate
on building an Aztlan foundation by educating, inspiring,
and organizing the masses of our people. We must provide
the means of re-educating nuestra gente about our past
in the present. Jesus once said, "Man cannot live by
    bread alone."

  • New Year Message from Ramsey Muniz

    Dear Friends:
The words below came to Ramsey in his dreams, as do most
of his writings. He is regaining his strength, and believes
that his life has been renewed. Ramsey asked that I share
the enclosed, and submit the words as shown below.–Irma Muniz

    Soy 21st Century Mexicano

It’s so beautiful! Our ancient stone masons were the greatest
architects! They left us a foundation upon which we are building our
temple in Aztlan. Just being "tribe" (love, comradeship, equality), we
are a cultured people of men and women like yourselves; we are the
living house of the temple. We are creating an awareness in Aztlan that
is so healthy that we are a "life force." We shall always be good
health for one another. The information (cultural and spiritual) that I
am submitting to you, mi raza, is giving us a clarity our builders
possessed in the time of Aztlan. I know that one day…one morning…their
children and we, the descendants, would also do our homework and create
Mexicayotl (consciousness) and learn their craft and use it not only to
rebuild the temple, but also to rebuild ourselves
    spiritually.
We are the most exquisite living art – an art form that is
Nahuatl. We not only sound beautiful, we are beautiful! The beauty and
intensity of our love for one another is equal to that divine love that
our ancient stone masons shared with our people during the dawn of our
    civilization.

Now we are doing our homework and learning the connection
between the stone masons of Aztlan and the free and accepted
Mexicans of the present day, so as to understand perfectly the process
by which our origin changed from an operative art to a speculative
science. And so, we must attentively study and thoroughly digest these
    ancient records of our forefathers.

The Mexican codices are essential to our studies. We must
acquire them because we know that they refer historically to the
regeneration of our lives! Nosotros somos la fuerza de vida nueva de
"los masons de una vez – en un tiempo de Aztlan." We must learn how to
rebuild ourselves step by step – degree by degree. We must not reject
the signs. Every keystone they placed in the center of every arch shall
    "spiritually" secure firmness
and stability in our lives. Every cornerstone they laid with
impressive ceremonies were done in our honor; and since
the cornerstone is the stone which lies at the corner of the foundation
    of an edifice.

We are the living permanence and durability of the cornerstone of Aztlan – well-formed, true and everlasting.

Mexi (me-sheek) is the master builder of souls, and in
Torquemada’s Monarquia Indiana we learn that Mexi gave us his name,
proclaiming us to be materially worthy of the spiritual building of
eternal life – fitted as living stones for that house not made with
    hands -eternal in Tamoanchan.

Tezcatlipoca, Mexi’s archangel, is the chief corner-stone and in
Mexicayotl (la masoneria Mexicano) symbolism, the "chief
cornerstone" signifies a true Mexican. Tezcatlipoca is our
"mirror of destiny," the mirror of understanding and the imagination.

    No soy Latino/Americano
    No soy Mexicano/Americano
    No soy Chicano
    No soy Hispanico/Latino
    Soy 21st Century Mexicano!!!
    Watch me rise!!!

This is me…this is my life…this is my destiny!!!

  • Irma Muniz: The Time is Now to Free Ramsey

    Dear Friends:

The year 2010 is a year for change as we have increased the efforts to free Ramsey Muniz! Support received on national and international levels demonstrates that the time is now!

On an international level, a recent article by Amigas de Mumia, México states,

“To the sound of drums, a little over a hundred of us demanded freedom for Mumia Abu-Jamal outside the United States Embassy in Mexico City on December 9, 2009, as well as for Leonard Peltier, the men and women of MOVE, the Angola 3, Sundiata Acoli, Los Cinco, Francisco Torres, Hugo Pinnell, Ruchell Magee, Marilyn Buck, Dr. Mutulu Shakur, the Puerto Rican Independentistas, David Gilbert, Ramsey Muñiz, the environmental prisoners and all the social activists that this government intends to bury alive.”

Our requests for prayers and spiritual intervention have made their way to India, as correspondence regarding Ramsey Muñiz was delivered to Amma. We feel blessed for a spiritual connection with Amma, a woman who is considered by many throughout the world as a living saint and prophet.

Nationally, we are most grateful for the support demonstrated by Rosa Rosales, National President of LULAC, who recently met with us to provide assistance in the efforts to free Ramsey Muñiz. The compassion and love that she demonstrates makes her a true leader, and we hold her in great esteem for the work that LULAC has done to help us.

Joe Ortiz, National Civil Rights Director for the American GI Forum, continues to provide support and we extend our gratitude to the American GI Forum for the assistance that they continue to provide.

As we move forward to free Ramsey Muñiz , the list of organizational support continues to grow, and we call on all organizations and individuals to join this movement. The need to unite in this humanitarian cause is critical and the time is now!

We continue to thank God for the signs given to us that Ramsey will obtain the freedom that he so rightfully deserves! Thank you for the assistance that you have provided to free Ramsey Muñiz.

    Sincerely,
    Irma Muñiz
