  • Happy Valentine's Day from Ramsey and Irma

    Email from Irma Muniz:

    February 14, 2008

    Dear Friends:

    My loving husband, Ramsey, calls and is not concerned about discussing his freedom. His mind is focused on expressions of love, as Valentine’s Day is upon us. I, his wife, cannot find the Valentine’s Day card that he sent me. I have no time for love, as I have an insatiable need to free my husband.

    In the midst of sorrow, love refuses to die . . .

    Valentine’s Day Sentiments
    From my Loving Husband, Ramsey

    There is light and love in your soul,
    which makes the beauty of your heart a part of me
    and those close to you.

    The same beauty is the enlightenment
    that to this day makes me the Mexicano that I am.

    My hunger in these dungeons is not for food,
    but for the love that you have transformed into my soul.

    Humanity celebrates this day once a year.
    We, as lovers, celebrate this most profound love
    every day of our lives. It is so powerful that
    history will record this one day.

    “There is no greater glory than to die for love.”

    “Weeping may linger for the night, but
    in the morning there are shouts of joy.”

    “You have a soul in you of rare Mexicana quality,
    an artist’s nature; never let it starve for lack of
    what it desires.”

    “Between life and death, between the beauty and the
    horror of the world, the quest for freedom is what makes us —
    no matter what the circumstances — free.”

    “Celebrate this day of hearts with all the joy and
    passion that is within you.”

    Amor,
    Ramsey – Tezcatlipoca

  • Ramsey Muniz: I Do Not Want to Die in Prison

    Email from Irma Muniz

    Dear Friends:

    Ramsey Muniz had a vivid dream. In his dream we were together–sharing
    sentiments of love, and I asked him what it was that he desired. His response
    was, “I desire my freedom NOW. I do not wish to die in the prisons of America
    for a crime I did not commit.”

    Our wish is that this country grant Ramsey his freedom now, and that he be
    given a fair chance to prove his innocence. We ask your assistance in
    accomplishing this, as we are preparing to send information and plead our case
    again upon my return from Oklahoma.

    The greatest assistance that you can provide is in thinking and believing that
    Ramsey WILL be granted his freedom. Please take several minutes during this
    Holy Week and ask God, through your thoughts and prayers, for Ramsey’s chance
    to prove his innocence, and for his happiness and freedom. Our collective
    thoughts and prayers will make this come about.

    Ramsey states,

    “Jesus spoke of love, compassion, harmony, respect, and sacrifice. My highest respect and honor go to the courage and conviction that
    He maintained to the last seconds of His life. Even non-Christians must agree
    that history does not record the sacrifices that man makes for the love of humanity. His own followers and politicians betrayed him at the end. How He
    must have felt alone in a mode of darkness with chains and shackles, and whipped with the lashes of hatred and oppression, knowing from the beginning that this would be His destiny.

    As a spiritual warrior of the Sixth Sun, we pay our highest respect to this spiritual Man who sacrificed His life in order that others be freed. To be free is to love, and without love in one’s heart we can never be alive. His spirits, like those of Quetzalcoatl and many others, are alive today.”

    Ramsey Muniz – Tezcatlipoca

    “HOW it will happen, HOW the Universe will bring it to you, is not your
    concern or job. Allow the Universe to do it for you. When you are trying to
    work out HOW it will happen, you are emitting a frequency that contains a lack
    of faith — that you don’t believe you have it already. You think YOU have to
    do it, and you do not believe the Universe will do it for you. The HOW is not
    your part in the Creative Process.”

  • Appeal to Sen. Clinton from Irma Muniz: Free Ramsey

    Irma Muniz shares the following model letter in hopes that you will add your name to the last line and upload it to the website of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.–gm

    February 13, 2008

    The Honorable Hillary Clinton
    United States Senator
    476 Russell Senate Office Building
    Washington, DC 20510

    Dear Senator Clinton:

    We seek your assistance in the case of Ramiro “Ramsey” Muñiz of Corpus Christi, Texas. Mr. Muñiz is remembered for his leadership role during the Civil Rights Movement in the 60s and 70s. He ran for governor of Texas twice, and made great contributions to the Mexican American, Hispanic, the Latino populations who had no representation in the political arena. To learn more about him please go to our website at http://www.freeramsey.com, or search for Ramsey Muñiz videos at http://www.youtube.com.

    Resolutions in support of Ramsey Muñiz have been passed by the League of United Latin American Citizens and the American GI Forum as this issue is of critical importance to the Mexican American, Hispanic, and Latino communities. The LULAC resolution may be accessed by going to the National LULAC resolutions website.

    The issue of Ramsey Muñiz is humanitarian, and it merits the involvement of all senators, congressmen, organizations, attorneys, and American citizens. For this reason we seek assistance from Democrats and Republicans alike, as we urgently seek assistance to free an innocent man who made great contributions to humanity and has suffered unjustly for many years of his life.

    We have struggled for years to have Mr. Muñiz transferred to Texas so that he can have the opportunity to prove his innocence. We will pursue a Commutation of Sentence and we would greatly appreciate your sharing information about this case with others.

    Please know that Mexican Americans, Hispanics, and Latinos throughout the Southwest will not abandon the issue of Ramsey Muñiz until he obtains his freedom. We ask for your assistance, and we thank you in advance for your support.

    Sincerely,

  • Thanksgiving 2007 from Ramsey Muniz

    Dear Friends:

    During this Thanksgiving Day let us embrace each other with a spirit of love for our families, friends, and fellow man. In the message below Ramsey reminds us of the of the true world around us, and the harsh reality faced by humanity today.

    Irma Muniz

    **************************************

    From my imprisonment I share this spirit to all of humanity on this Thanksgiving Day of 2007. Christ’s faith was on the future of all humanity when he shared the following words of spiritual wisdom:

    “For I was hungry and you gave me food;
    I was thirsty and you gave me drink;
    I was a stranger and you welcomed me;
    I was naked and you clothed me;
    I was ill and you cared for me;
    I was imprisoned and you visited me.”

    “When did we give you all this,” His disciples asked Him. Jesus replied, “Amen I say to you. Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine you did for me.”

    The world is full of hunger and thirst today. At war because we are strangers. Homeless and lacking health care for those without. Many unjustly imprisoned without the love of humanity or freedom.

  • Christmas Greetings from Irma and Ramsey Muniz

    Dear Friends:

    On this beautiful Christmas day I share a most profound message from my husband, Ramsey Muniz. I have just returned from El Reno, Oklahoma where Ramsey and I exchanged sentiments of love and thanksgiving for the Savior sent to us for the sake of all humanity.

    Ramsey writes as follows:

    Even though I feel the heavy weight of time lost in this confinement, the agony of being alive in this mode of darkness, Irma, my wife, and I share with you the true meaning of the glorious spiritual celebration, for it is the birth of the Light of this world. With love and strength in our hearts we will not walk in darkness, but with the Light of life and freedom.

    Merry Christmas to our families, friends, and supporters, to those who seek justice, and to all who carry the love of Christ in their hearts.

    Con amor,
    Ramsey & Irma Muniz
